It's pure and sweet sound, together with its lightweight and graceful design have made the Atara our most popular nevel harp. Without musical training, everything played on this harp sounds beautiful. The Atara always has a lovely, clear sound. Lightweight, and easily carried by hand for secure traveling, it can be taken with you anywhere you wish to go, including airplanes, trains, to the meadow or forest.... This harp is excellent for accompanying performances or making recordings, and is easily amplified. The Atara has 3 full octaves with solid brass half-tone levers for musical versatility Choice of woods, accessories and custom artwork is available upon request. One of its most mystical features is that it plays by itself in the wind. The legend of King David's famous harp that did this long ago, is still 'performing' this way in our generation The Midrashic Legend tells us that David went everywhere with his harp in hand, and at night he would hang his harp above his bed when he slept. At midnight as the wind would blow from the north, the harp would begin to play alone. He would awaken and begin anew to praise G-d.. |

The Healing Harp of Serech "Jacob's sons worried about how to break the news to their father that they had found Joseph alive and ruler of Egypt. They feared the shock might be too much for him to bear. When they approached Jacob's house, they noticed Asher's daughter, Serech, coming out to greet them. She was an extraordinary girl, spiritually greater than all the other children of the tribes, and she played the harp beautifully. 'Appear before Jacob with your harp' they instructed her, 'and sing a melody, stating that Joseph is still alive'. Serech slipped quietly into Jacob's tent and stood behind the mourning Jacob. Softly she began to play a tune with the words, 'My uncle Joseph is still alive, he is ruler over Egypt!' Jacob drank in the words thirstily and enjoyed the pleasant music. "May you be blessed, Serech" he said to her. "You have revived my spirit. May you live forever!" Jacob's blessing was fulfilled.
