HISTORY OF THE ATARA NEVEL

Many years ago, Israeli archaeologists discovered an ancient painting on the wall of a cave in the area of Har Megiddo in northern Israel. This painting of a man and his primitive Nevel was carbon dated to be about 3000 years old, from around the time of King David. Before the appearance of the Nevel, most of the stringed instruments of that time were based on the shape of the Kinnor harp.

When we began to build our first harp, this drawing was our inspiration. Thus the Atara Nevel was born.
